Lauchlan The Betrayed (book 2 of Hell in the Realm series)

This is the tale of Lauchlan Silvers, let's go back to the beginning of Alpha Franco's lies and deceit. From Ryder the Mate-less and follow Alpha Lauchlan's tale after he arrives home at 23 years of age, after four years of military service to the wolfen king, looking forward to the day he is to meet his Goddess-Gifted Mate. Amora the pack's Matchmaker told him he would meet her after his term of service. He is completely unaware that his own Father has betrayed him and sent his Fated Mate to the wolfen realm to live a life of warring.

Where he hears from Amora, the Matchmaker his Goddess-Gifted is dead and that he must move on, but that he should not let his father chose a Mate for him, it will never work out if he does. Lauchlan doesn't know if his fated mate is actually dead or maybe she just relinquished him back to the Moon Goddess and has taken a chosen mate for herself.

At 26 he comes across a she-wolf so very beautiful and his desire for her knows no bounds, Tyler is her name, and she has a mark scar from a previous bond, and he is convinced she is his Goddess-Gifted Mate. Even his wolf Theo is drawn the she-wolf, and they both desire to claim her, so set out to convince her she was their Fated Mate, only her claiming of another broke their bond; but they can regrow it.

Tyler is convinced by her mother that this is a good thing; an Alpha wanting to claim her, she'll be a Luna to a pack, and hold the highest of ranks. Reign over a pack and never want for anything, that she will come to love Lauchlan, once Marked and Mated their bond will grow and flourish.

Moving to his pack Tyler finds that his father Franco is very distant, and his great grandmother goes very pale at seeing her. They know her secret, that she is not his Fated Mate even though Lauchlan has announced her as his Goddess-Gifted, which she has also stated she was.

Lauchlan loves Tyler with all he has, but Fate is not kind to those that deceive the Moon Goddess and during a mating ball Tyler scents out her own Goddess-Gifted, and desires to leave Lauchlan, for a Beta ranked wolf, a third heir of another pack.

Things in Lauchlan's world fall apart as the truth of all the lies and deception around him come to light, his Fated Mate is not Tyler never was, but is in fact a she-wolf named Ryder, from this very pack. A she-wolf that his father cruelly sent to the serve for a lifetime within the king's military, a she-wolf his father deemed unworthy to stand by his son's side.

The search for Ryder begins only to be denied by his own King the right to meet his fated mate, no one believes she is his Goddess-Gifted Mate; He's never met her on a full moon, never scented her out on a full moon. There is no actual proof Ryder is his Goddess-Gifted Mate, only what he was told by Amora, it is deemed by the king and his royal unit as trying to coerce a she-wolf into being his Mate.
