Wall Street financier David Powers is a man of rules. Rules for success. Rules for power. And, most important, rules for dating. No blondes, no under-26-year-olds, and definitely no one who works for him. Penny is his assistant, a young woman working for him in order to pay for Yale Medical School. She's smart, she's snarky, and she definitely doesn't have a huge crush on her boss. Tensions rise as the two slowly realize that their feelings for each other are growing far beyond the professional. But when Penny quits after false rumours of them sleeping together start to spread, David is faced with a choice: stick to his rules or desperately try to track down the woman he's fallen in love with. As Penny struggles to decide what life she wants to live, David's long-held beliefs are being tested like never before as he attempts to get her back. Together, they will have to see past each other's flaws and trauma in order to realize that, in business and love, some rules are meant to be broken.
