Crashing Into You: The Rich Heiress Chasing a Traffic Cop

Blurb Drunk and passed out in her car, she gets mistaken on the spot for a drunk driver.
To turn a traffic cop into her boyfriend, she even “downgrades” herself into a cute, clueless girl?Vivian Hart is your typical rich girl raised in a Western city:
unlimited credit cards, emotional vacancy, a mother who died young and a father who’s always busy dating and getting remarried.
She’s not short on money, not short on looks—
the only thing she’s missing is someone who truly cares, who will cook her soup when she’s running a fever. One late night, after a roadside DUI scare, she crashes into Mason Blake—
a traffic cop with an ordinary paycheck and a regular schedule,
who’s weirdly good at claw machines, can actually cook,
and casually “picks her up” off the street and drives her home.To win him over, she follows her best friend’s step-by-step plan:
pretend she lost her cat, play the innocent, act like a soft, sweet girl, put on the fragile-and-sick routine…
In reality, the cat is in her friend’s arms,
the sickness is self-inflicted,
and her act is full of holes from day one.Meanwhile, Mason is just watching from the sidelines the whole time:
“Come on. I don’t like ditsy sweethearts. The one I liked was always just you.”Just when she thinks she finally has love within reach—
her father’s new marriage, a wedding dress stolen by her stepsister,
and a slap across the face in public
force her to choose between the hard-won self-respect she built growing up alone,
and the one pair of arms that, for the first time, tells her:“I’m staying. I don’t feel safe leaving you like this.”
Chapter 1Vivian Hart woke to someone knocking. She blinked herself out of a doze, mumbled a sleepy “mm,” and pushed herself upright. It took a couple of seconds before she remembered she was in her car.Out the window, a traffic cop was leaning down, tapping on the glass over and over. The brim of his cap hid half his face and the street was dark, so Vivian could not really see what he looked like. She lowered the window and frowned. “What’s going on?”A strong wave of alcohol fumes rolled out. The cop, Mason Blake, pulled a breathalyzer from his pocket and held it out to her. His tone stayed calm. “Ma’am, you may be driving under the influence, so I need you to blow into this.”“Driving under the influence?”That sobered her up fast. Vivian rushed to explain. “I did drink, but I didn’t drive. I just fell asleep in the car.”Mason frowned. “Please cooperate with my work.”Vivian sighed, resigned, and took the device, blowing into the mouthpiece. Her cousin had gotten married that day. She had been forced to drink with half the guest list, got absolutely wasted, finally escaped from the banquet hall, and was planning to order a driver to take her home. She never even got to make the call. She had climbed into the car and passed out on the spot.To make things worse, she had crashed in her usual place in the driver’s seat. The reading was obvious. Her blood alcohol level was way over the legal limit. Vivian pulled a face and laid out the whole story, then stressed again, “I really didn’t drive.”Mason glanced at her license plate. “Do you have a dash cam in the car?”“Yeah.”He climbed into her car and checked the footage. When he saw she was watching him with a nervous, expectant look, his tone finally softened. “No drunk driving.”Vivian let out a long breath. Then she heard him say, “But it’s not safe to sleep in your car in the middle of the road at night. Call a driver and go home.”She obediently grabbed her phone, then suddenly remembered the time. “It’s already the middle of the night. Where am I supposed to find a driver now?”“Then have someone from home come pick you up.”Mason was about to get out when she grabbed his sleeve. Her voice was small and pitiful. “Officer, nobody at home is going to come get me. Could you maybe drive me back?”He gave her a look and shut her down. “No. I’m still on duty.”Vivian was still tipsy and fuzzy. The moment she heard the refusal, her eyes went red. She could not hold back her tears and looked genuinely wronged.Mason clearly had not expected that. For a second he looked lost. “Can you please not cry?”“Officer…”“I’ll take you. All right? I’ll take you.”Vivian finally stopped crying and gave him her address. Mason checked his watch and sighed. “My shift is almost over. Wait here for me.”Vivian nodded. Once he left to finish his work, she slumped against the seat again and drifted back to sleep. When she woke up the second time, the car was already moving. They were on the way to her place. She stretched, then snuck a look at his profile. “Officer, I still don’t know your name.”“Mason Blake.”“I’m Vivian Hart.”“Okay.”Vivian could tell he had zero interest in small talk, so she felt too embarrassed to keep pushing it. She shut her mouth and stared out the window. After Mason dropped her off, he did not even stay for a glass of water. He left almost right away.Vivian took a shower, ready to crash hard and sleep it all off. She had just climbed into bed when she noticed a message from earlier on her phone. It was from her dad.Vivian tossed her phone aside with an irritated flick of her wrist.Any trace of sleepiness was gone.
